According to foreign media reports, Motorola is preparing to launch two mid-range smartphones, Moto Z4 Play and Moto P40. According to unconfirmed news, the Moto P40 will become Motorola’s first smartphone equipped with Samsung chips.
Moto P40 is an upgraded version of P30, a smartphone launched by Motorola in China last year and later released in the United States and renamed Motorola One Power. The P30 and One Power are basically the same device spec-wise. But the P40 may be equipped with different specifications.
Motorola has not yet announced the P40 smartphone, but the smartphone recently appeared on the benchmark software Geekbench. From what we know, Motorola plans to use a different name for the smartphone in the US, One Vision.
The P40 smartphone does not come with the rumored Qualcomm Snapdraon 675 chip, but is equipped with Samsung's Exynos 9610 chip, which is also present in Samsung's recently launched Galaxy A50 smartphone.
The phone is called Motorola One Vision and will include 6 GB of RAM and Exynos 9610 chipset. If this information proves to be accurate, this will be Motorola's first smartphone to feature a Samsung chip.
This seems like a rather peculiar choice for Motorola, which typically uses chips from Qualcomm. Even Samsung uses Qualcomm Snapdraon chips in its flagship smartphones sold in the United States, while its own Exynos chipsets are used in smartphones sold in other markets.
However, this news is dubious, as these basic configurations listed on Geekbench can easily be tampered with.
